Business
of Design Week 2003 builds on the impressive
inaugural BODW event, linked to the opening
of the Hong Kong Design Centre, in September
2002. At that event the international design
community was awakened to Hong Kongs
aspiration to become a design champion.
The core programme of the second BODW takes
on the theme "LifeStyleAsia". It
includes a series of seminars and forums conducted
by illustrious names in design.
LifeStyleAsia appertains to everything we
do, from living at home to working in a city,
using technology, enjoying entertainment and
seeking fulfilling experience. From one of
the most vibrant cities in the world, Hong
Kong, we travel the world, trade, communicate,
eat exquisite food and enjoy our life in Asia.
Our senses are excited and minds stimulated.
LifeStyleAsia delves into the creation of
innovative excellence. It seeks to explain
how our senses are stirred to make decisions
which make, or break, companies. It exposes
design as a business tool which goes beyond
styling and the realization design dominates
our life.
There
will also be a series of exciting design exhibitions
and activities held by affiliated organizations
all over town during the week, all under the
BODW 2003 banner. The Design for Asia Award
will also be launched by the Hong Kong Design
Centre in the same week, paying tribute to
the high achievers in Business of Design
in the Region over the year past.
BODW will demonstrate to business why design
makes a difference.
